School Town of Highland

Here is Highland Highlight #3 about Robin's Garden at Merkley Elementary School. Robin Guiden was a special education teacher at Merkley for over eight years, and every single person that knew her knew how much she cared about and accepted every student that walked through Merkley's doors. Robin passed away from cancer in April of 2023. Her old classroom overlooked the courtyard, so the idea to beautify it and fill it with flowers is an absolutely perfect idea. And, it just so happens that her favorite color was yellow, which is all throughout the garden and is Merkley's school color. Everyone worked very hard to make the courtyard beautiful and, as you'll see, their work absolutely paid off.
